  1. This is sooo clear. I really appreciate the time you took to show the whole process. I have some work to do. I’ve been working on what I intended to be my first blanket. Turns out I’m not going the chain-up part; I’ve just been working my way back down the line. It isn’t so bad. The work is a lot denser, but it’s taking a while and frankly the pattern in your demo looks a lot better. Oy ve! Back to the drawing board! Maybe this can just be a scarf. :)

  2. I love the way you teach…keep it coming..Thanks

  3. Mikey…You are fabulous! I love all of your projects and wish to learn how to crochet just like you. You are by far the best at crocheting, Love the great instructional tutorials, You have a great speaking voice and over all you are just a nice person. lots of holiday wishes for you and your companion.

  4. Brilliant video! Thank you. I have watched loads and everyone else is way too fast and doesn’t explain clearly enough for a total novice. I can actually follow yours though!

  5. If you are left handed, watch the video in a mirror!

  6. Thank you so0o0o much!!!
Your so easily understood and take your time showing the actions AS your saying it so fluently, anyone can do this to get themselves started!!! I’ve never crocheted before, only knit. Thanks to you, im heading to the local store to get a needle and try it out for myself not that i can SEE HOW its done and that it doesn’t LOOK so difficult after all!! Thankx!!! xxx <3 xxx

  7. This is so helpful! Thank you for breaking crocheting down so clearly. It’s so much easier to learn from this than from a book.

  14. SO HELPFUL! I have been trying to follow the books on how to crochet and I was SERIOUSLY struggling. You really break it down nicely and I am on my way to making my *first* blanket. Thank you SO very much.

  15. Mikey has loads of video, check em out they are great !

  16. just finish at the end of one of the rows …after you make it as long as you want it :)

  17. Hi
Well i wouldnt say it was an extra stitch (otherwise you will have an extra stitch each row lol) but you do need to make sure that you do crochet into the TURNING CHAIN from the previous row …it may be a little hard to see …but it will be the last stitch on the row …hope this helps :) good luck !

  18. Hi, thanks for replying… :)

Someone asked if i was adding the extra stitch at the end? Wasn’t aware that ya had to? ya don’t do ya?

I’m going to try again….and concerntrate lol :)

  19. I totally agrree !

  20. for begginers this is an awsome video, to get an idea after doing the 1st chain, nice job

  21. This is without a doubt the BEST how to crochet video on youtube. Thanks!

  22. ok I got 100% lost as soon as you did the double crochet :’(

  23. are you making sure that you are going into every stitch ? and also dont forget the last stich …maybe count the stitches of each row until you get the hang of it ?

  24. There is no right or wrong way. There is what works. You limit yourself and others by saying there is only one way to crochet. I too am a crochet teacher and I find no fault with the way Michael holds his hook. As long as you get the right results and you are comfortable when you make the stitches. If you feel you can do better, then make some videos yourself.

  25. I think someone (Tippersmami) might be just a bit jealous of someone else’s (mikeyssmail) talents and popularity. I agree with bdales99, I prefer Michael’s world over Tippersmami’s.
